Description: This data set is a collection of points representing the locations of churches wholly within the County of Carteret (North Carolina) political boundary. The churches were mapped using the owner and use description fields in the county tax parcel layer (e.g. OWNER: ANN STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH"), the county landmark GIS layer, and internet searches of churches in Carteret County. The data were created in November of 2014 by the Carteret County IT Department.
